Pelosi Joins the SF Labor Movement to Celebrate Prop 50 Victory
Published November 2025
On Tuesday, November 4 — the night that California Proposition 50 passed with an epic 65%-to-35% yes victory — Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi convened with members of San Francisco’s labor movement at Hot Johnnie’s Smokehouse in the Castro neighborhood to toast to a big win for working people not just in the City but across the country.
Building trades members bolstered the get-out-the-vote ground game through their involvement with Working Families for Fair Elections, a Pelosi-supported political action committee spearheaded by the SF Building Trades Council.
Two days later, Pelosi announced that she won’t be running for office next year.
This council salutes Pelosi, who has been a stalwart ally of labor in the City for nearly four decades. We know we’ll be working with her throughout the duration of her final term — and well into in the future.
