A Big Day at Potrero Power Station

On Thursday, October 2, Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi visited the Potrero Power Station development site in the Dogpatch neighborhood for a special sneak peak of the new Sophie Maxwell Building at 1212 Maryland Street. Pelosi was greeted by IBEW Local 6 Business Manager and SF Building Trades Council Vice-President of Subcrafts John Doherty; UA Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 38 Apprenticeship Director Steve Mazzola; IBEW Local 6 Assistant Business Manager Osha Ashworth; Operating Engineers Local 3 Apprenticeship Coordinator Meg-Anne Pryor; SF Building Trades Council Secretary–Treasurer Rudy Gonzalez; and SF Labor Council Executive Director Kim Tavaglione.
While on-site, Pelosi met with Associate Capital Managing Partner Enrique Landa, Managing Director of Development Tina Chang, and Project Manager Lizzie Sturr, as well as Swinerton Project Manager Sarah Leeds.
From the roof deck, the team highlighted the new UCSF cancer treatment facility currently underway on block 2 of the project site.
Pelosi also paid a visit to the newly formed cohort of Sistas With Tools pre-apprentices, who are starting their MC3 training on-site.
