2270 MCKINNON AVENUE

In Bayview–Hunters Point, Trades Workers Erect a Unique Multi-Use Commercial Facility

Published April 2026

Building trades members are currently hard at work on a relatively small but significant commercial build on the eastern edge of the City.

Once complete in March 2027, the 2270 McKinnon Avenue site will be one part multi-use self-storage space and one part production, distribution, and repair (PDR) facility. The 170,000 square-foot, five-story, class-A structure will come along with community use space and adjacent street improvements.

Deca Companies is the developer and Plant is the general contractor on this PLA-signed project.

The building’s skeleton was re-engineered into a cast-in-place concrete structure. “The exterior concrete walls feature a form-liner pattern which will be unique for this product type and neighborhood,” according to Plant.

When we visited in late March, we found a jobsite buzzing with ironworkers and a number of other trades workers. Enjoy the photos.
